Probably literally thousands of posts on this on the net. Summary bullet points are courtesy of Andreas at L Camera Forum ........................................ *M9* A LEICA M9 will come Developing full format is technically very demanding because of the M lenses *We are one step further but still not there where we can announce the camera* *M8 Upgrades* No more upgrades are planned Dealers don't like upgrades as no additional sales are generated The M8 upgrade constrained Leica M8.2 sales Used cameras are entry level cameras thus attracting new customers to Leica This would drop by future upgrade offers ..................................................... My opinions below. If September brings a 24x36 M9 announcement as seems likely, further M8 upgrades would make no sense at all. One M8 variant to continue seems very likely. I would think that will be the M8.2. M8 owners still have the existing upgrade options currently. Would definitely be impossible to upgrade any M8 to the now partly shown new model. September 9 will tell the tale 2009/9/1 mehrdad <msadat at gmail.com> > would leica offer an upgrade for the m8 .2 to m8.3?? > > -- > ------------------------------------- > regards, mehrdad > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information > -- Cheers Geoff Alles was eine gute Kamera braucht / Everything a good camera needs: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/gh/ http://www.pbase.com/hoppyman
