I was just referring to the quality (resolution and scalability) of a large print from an M8 capture vs. scanned M7 capture in my experience. That is, addressing Mark's specific criteria. Still no-one's opinion is ever changed unwillingly, you have to see for yourself. I was a film holdout too, of course. I should know better, shouldn't I? OK just one more: 8000 frames as with my M8 so far, would have been more than $8000 locally with my chosen Slide film. Back to posting more pics for me then ;-) 2009/6/29 Richard Man <richard.lists at gmail.com> > Geoff, I see several areas where MP/M7 wins over M8: > > - the smell of fixer in the morning > - tri-x > - Antarctica > - 15 is 15 > - 1 roll tri-x + developing = $5. $3000 premium is 600 rolls of tri-x. > - analog prints command a higher premium > - 10 years later, your film M still works with the latest film. > > > On Mon, Jun 29, 2009 at 2:01 AM, Geoff Hopkinson<hopsternew at gmail.com> > wrote: > > Mark I'm just barracking for Truth, Justice and the M8ing way ;-) > > It really is a done deal on that comparison on larger prints! > > I agree its really nice to keep every camera but fiscal reality forces > tough > > decisions. > > > > > -- > // richard m: richard @imagecraft.com > // w: http://www.rfman.com > // b: http://rfman.wordpress.com > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information > -- Cheers Geoff Artisan excellence for the best lenses in the world.
