The sky was lost to the heat haze and the smoke from the bushfires: so far Ballarat has been spared that horror. Its raining today: but strangely the pavements are so hot that they remain dry. I hope it continues: the garden is parched Cheers --- hopsternew@gmail.com wrote: From: Geoff Hopkinson <hopsternew@gmail.com> To: Leica Users Group <lug@leica-users.org> Subject: Re: [Leica] Pics from down under Date: Sun, 8 Feb 2009 07:29:57 +1000 Clive it looks like you got to see some very scenic country. always fun to see what visitors shoot, too. I laughed when I saw that you had the classic fried egg, baked beans and toast breakfast along the way. Two tongue in cheek comments for you: Next time take your M8! We can't have those bent horizons from OT equipment around here ;-) Secondly, you know that New Zealand is not Australia, don't you ;-) I'm impressed that you managed to drive there via the Great Ocean Road though! Did you know that Melbourne hit 46.4 Celsius yesterday? Some regional areas got to 47.9! That's about 118 F for the non-metricated folks. Alastair must be a puddle at Ballarat. Cheers Geoff, who lives nowhere near Warrnambool! 2009/2/8 Clive Moss <clive.moss@gmail.com> > Hi all, > I recently returned from a long trip to Australia/New Zealand - primarily > to > see family with a bit of sightseeing thrown in. > Pictures (pretty postcards mostly) taken with OT equipment are at > > http://clive.smugmug.com/Travel/676774/ > > Many times on the trip while lugging a heavy SLR and zoom lens I wished I > had taken the M8 - serves me right! > Comments and critique welcomed. > -- > Clive > http://clive.moss.net/blog > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information > _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
