That is also my reaction to the vast majority of HDR images I see. I  
think that with every new technique, there is an initial flurry of  
people who overdo it, and then things settle down and people start  
using it in a serious way, to enhance images rather than to overpower  
them. I think HDR right now is very much in the "overdo" phase.
