A variation or an extra - rum and/or vanilla added to the egg & milk 
mixture brings another light to the experiment.

Lost or "perdu" probably means it would have been good for dumping had 
not it been rescued so. "Lost at sea" is another use of lost where it 
has the same meaning.

While we're on varations, it also works wonderfully with "brioche" - 
sort of bread baked with milk and eggs instead of water.

Another Philippe - no harm done if I intrude Philippe O?
