Hi Eric,

I think what you are calling banding is just terrible noise  
performance at ISO 2500. The original typical banding problem would  
have much more pronounced bands of different colors and would emit  
from strong light sources at the edges of the frame. What I am  
concerned with is the fine vertical line on the right edge of every  
photo, in some cases with the very fine pink dot at the top of the  
line. Is it there at say ISO 400?

How is your performance at the lower ISO's? I pretty much stay at 640  
and below so without doing some tests I don't know how my M8 would  
handle the very low light and ISO 2500. I'll try it tonight, after  
dark with my Noctilux as well.
