I expect the noise to be a little better but I don't have a noise issue now. My interest would be in the D3. I'm primarily a Nikon shooter and have been since around 1966. Except for occasional film usage in my older film Nikons, my wide angles from 14mm up to the 17-35mm zoom go pretty much unused. I have 10 Nikkors in that range. I will also be able to use my 3 DX lenses, 17 manual focus lenses and 18 AF lenses on the D3. What other system can say that without using crippled adapters? I do use wonderful Leica R lenses on my two Canon bodies, a 20D and a 5D. From time to time I do use my Nikon wides on the 5D though. I only have two Canon lenses.
