Calibrating lens/camera focus doesn't sit very high on my list of "enjoyable activities". And 5" is outside of the "focus on the eyes, and the ears are pleasantly out of focus" objective for portraits. ...Vick -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+vick.ko=sympatico.ca@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+vick.ko=sympatico.ca@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Frank Dernie Sent: Sunday, April 01, 2007 12:52 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] More M8 questions I have been going through the photographs take in the last week on my newish M8. The ones from the 35 f1.4 aspherical are lovely, this was always my favourite lens by far, reason alone to get the M8 - I am delighted. My 50s both f1.4 an f1 may need to go away for recalibration though, after loads of OOF pix I took some check pictures which show them both focusing about 5" behind the point of rangefinder coincidence. I will check all my lenses first to make sure it is not the camera and I am getting away with it on WA lenses because of the greater DoF. Boring.
