Back to pens: anyone out there use a Parker 51? Still my all-time favorite. Amen! I like the heft of Watermans, the smooth nib of Shaeffers, and the flexible points of Pelikans. I would like to get a Sailor soon, as I hear they have very smooth nibs. Elegant images of elegant objects. I've been noticing people around me using fountain pens, including two physicians who scribble prescriptions with their fountain pens. I like an amber Pelikan Demonstrator. It's nothing fancy, but smooth and you can see the near-quart of ink inside the clear piston. Fountain Pens. Just another anachronism, refusing to go away in the face of technologically and economically superior disposable bics and biros. -rei On Jan24 10:25, firkin wrote: > I had not envisaged Kyle as a pen pusher ;-) Lovely collection, lets > hope > it doesn't lead me to another expensive LUG induced splurge ;-) > > Ric Carter writes: > > >Very nice selection of contrasts and complements. > > > >Ric Carter > >http://gallery.leica-users.org/Passing-Fancies > > > > > >On Jan 23, 2006, at 11:30 AM, kyle cassidy wrote: > > > >>okay okay, just kidding, but i wanted to share some photos of > >>recent > >>acquisitions at the philadelphia fountian pen show: > >> > >>http://www.asc.upenn.edu/usr/cassidy/lj/2006/pen3.jpg > >> > >>http://www.asc.upenn.edu/usr/cassidy/lj/2006/pen7.jpg > >> > >>http://www.asc.upenn.edu/usr/cassidy/lj/2006/pen1.jpg > >> > >>http://www.asc.upenn.edu/usr/cassidy/lj/2006/pen9.jpg > >> > >>http://www.asc.upenn.edu/usr/cassidy/lj/2006/pen2.jpg > >> > >>http://www.asc.upenn.edu/usr/cassidy/lj/2006/pen14.jpg > >> > >>now back to your regularly scheduled discussions of rain and > >>negatives. > >>that is all. > >> > >>keep pushing that shutter button, it'll come unstuck, > >> > >>kc > >> > >>_______________________________________________ > >>Leica Users Group. > >>See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information > > > > > >_______________________________________________ > >Leica Users Group. > >See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information > > > > Alastair Firkin > www.afirkin.com > www.familyofman2.com > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information -- Rei Shinozuka shino@panix.com Ridgewood, New Jersey _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
