I think that is pure hypocrisy. Again, I think that many of the same people who think taking photography without permission is OK, would also be the first people to get angry if they found someone taking surreptitious photographs of their daughters or sons in public without permission. We shouldn't do to others what we wouldn't want to have done to us. There's a reason that there's little public support for our protests against public photography. The public does now see us as creeps who abuse them. When I ask for permission, I am often asked how the photographs will be used. I think it is every person's right to know this and to have this control. Again, would you be happy if photos of your family were used without your permission? This is the basis for my own ethical stand. You can do as you want to. I've said this repeatedly.
