B.D. has given me some tips on how to enhance the contrast a bit in Photoshop after the initial conversion using the Miranda plug-in to give the images a bit more of the "real B&W" look. I am sure that all the actions performed by the plug-in could be replicated manually in Photoshop, but I have no patience to learn about channel mixer, layers and all of that.
