I'd certainly like other papers to use with the printer, particularly something like the Epson matte, but what they've got is quite good - and very heavy. The one complaint I have - with the smaller printer - is that under artificial light the prints are definitely NOT neutral. But when viewed in daylight, they are perfect. B. With a street price under $500 the only question, really, is do you like HP papers. I have a 13X19 print from PMA which displays marvelous neutral tones. I don't know if the prints from the new 13x19 printer will be as good, but if they are... :-) -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Richard Sent: Sunday, March 13, 2005 7:05 PM To: Leica Users Group; 'Leica Users Group' Subject: RE: [Leica] BW Plugin Question And I think if I keep at it and find the magic formula of film/developer/Jobo timing/scanner settings/etc., it may just be my preferred method. It's so easy to develop B&W with the Jobo, it's amazing I didn't try it earlier! Xtol seems to give the fine grain I like, the trick is perhaps to fine tune something is get more sharpness. The scanner part is working OK, not ideal yet, but getting easier. Might be interesting to do an experiment with Wet print direct from the negatives vs. scanning and then print using say something like the 7960. Anyone game for that? (I don't have an enlarger...)
