After the second curtain closes, the inertia of the gears is used to recock the escapment mechanism.(This is from one of the Leica books about 1970.) When I am in a hurry, I wind the film after the second curtain closes and have no difficulties in many years. On my M6, the motor winds as soon as the curtain closes so I assume that no damage occurs. 0.02 Don dorysrus@mindspring.com -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+dorysrus=mindspring.com@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+dorysrus=mindspring.com@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Dan C Sent: Sunday, October 10, 2004 1:51 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: [Leica] One more time When shooting in the slow speed range on my M6, is there any danger in recocking the shutter after taking a picture, but before the escapement mechanism has finished doing its "thing" (while the faint buzzing sound is still audible)? I always wait till the buzzing sound finishes. -dan c. _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group. See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information
