No, no! Not socks (been there, done that).

The dust and the lint will eventually work its way into the lenses.

If they're really old socks, like Ted's underwear, well, ok. But watch it 
otherwise.

Now for my 1953(?) baseball signed by Stan the Man and the rest of the 
Cardinals ... the sock is just fine.
