[Leica] Frame coverage on different M

Which M camera shows proper frame coverage of the lens mounted?
Or let say M3 shows the best coverage of 90mm, M6(0.72) covers 35mm well 
i.e.?
Did anyone make measurement of that, at close distance, 1 to 3 m?
My problem is from the same point, when I use M3 or M6(0.72) each one shows 
different coverage for the same lens (35 or 90)!
Which camera is right?

PS. No wonder in many Leica shoots, i.e. in National Geographic, people have 
top of their head or feet chopped.
