It probably would be...on the bottom of my R it states in big white block 
letters "COSINA CO., LTD" and stamped in raised letters also on the bottom 
"MADE IN JAPAN." The same for my 25/4 it is engraved and filled in white 
text "Lens made in Japan" right on the focus ring. The part that several 
folks here object to is the "VOIGTLÄNDER GERMANY Since 1756" on the back of 
the camera just below the hot shoe. While I agree it is pretty silly 
marketing, anyone who is fooled for a minute into actually believing that 
this plastic and aluminium box has been made in Germany since 1756 (long 
before cameras have been around) should probably stick to shooting with an 
APS. If it is that upsetting to anyone, they should simply not purchase one 
and should spend all their hard earned (or not) money on Leica's capable 
products.

It really is that simple. To carry on a Jihad over the use of a name (when 
it really hurts no one) seems somehow petty to me.
