I like Ilford 3200 more than Kodak. Lots more.
Try it at 1600 and maybe about 30 sec to 1 minute more dev time than they 
suggest.
Ilford DDX is what I've used.

Even better (and 1 stop slower) is Delta 400 at 800 and DDX at 
recommended time.
