A reason I like a 50 is that when used with skill it can emulate a
slightly wide or Tele focal length.
A dozen years ago BL (before Leica's) I got a new 50 1.4 Al for the
Nikon and I shoot for a week for it a whole on location fashion issue
for a local paper here. I did not take that lens off there camera, did
lot's of horizontal's. Had always felt you needed at least an 85 if not
a 105 to do anything resembling clothing. The 50 did not compress the
people and I worked more intimately and with a better hunk of the environment.
