My thought process which went into my decision to buy the 75:

75 f1.4 can take the place of *both* a fast 50 and a fast 90 so if speed 
isn't an issue I can go with the lighter and smaller lenses in 50 and 90.  
Yes, the focal length is a bit of a compromise but in practice it hasn't 
bothered me.

75 offers less light falloff @ f1.4 than the Noct (@ 1.4 also). so it's more 
usable for non-portrait shots.

75 is better at smaller apertures.

Noct has 1 stop faster but in practice the DOF is *too* shallow for me.  I 
had a devil of a time getting someone's eyes in focus rather than nose or 
ears, and frankly I'd have wished them *all* to be within the range of 
sharpness.

Of course someone else might find for the reverse of everything I've stated.  
Such is our craft.  Best way is to get one of each on trial and shoot them 
both.
