Leicas are a cult (okay)

Objects of veneration include the M9 (Kodachrome like CCD) sensor prices 
high due to worship

M8 prices went high because it is a great choice for Monochrome and IR

eschewed objects affordable by mere mortals

Film Leica M4-2 (ohhh Canada? Not made by gnomes in Wetzlar)

Digital Leica M240 and the stablemates (last year?s model)
