The only Rolex I own is my father's wedding watch, circa 1948. Rolex not
only refuses to repair/service it, but bars any authorised dealer (AD) from
even opening the case of these old Rolex watches - who knows why? I
understand that the parts might not be available, but what is the harm in
taking a look? What is more, Rolex, together with Patek Philippe and
Audemar Piguet, have refused to supply the AD channels with watches in
demand the last decade, but presumably sell their production in the grey
market/ebay instead, as they can get 1.5x to 4x the list price, depending
on the model, for the new watches. A friend of mine had to pay the whole
price, and wait 2 years for the delivery of a basic Rolex Day Date. You
will not catch me ever buying these three brands, I have no time for
arrogant manufacturers who treat their potential customers like a piece of
turd.

Cheers
Jayanand
