Ageing out? Never heard of the term, Sonny, but that's a very apt
description of why a hobby is declining.
I was tempted to buy myself a Velocette 500 a few years ago, but now
have left it too late. Kick starting a thumper with the state of my
knees is only possible in my febrile imagination.

On restoration, another one of the reasons it's fading from favour is
some car people are into preservation - in other words keeping the car
as original looking as possible without fancy paint jobs, electronic
ignition, etc, rather than stripping it and replacing original parts and
paint. We can all see that trend in camera collecting.
