Saw this is a rest stop yesterday along Hwy 99 in California.

In case you cannot read the fine print, it says:

"The cigarette waste collected in the receptacle will be used to create 
energy with Caltrans' Butts to Watts program"

Probably expend more energy to collect and transport the butts than they 
can generate.?? But hey, if it makes a smoker thing they are doing 
something worthwhile with their habit, why not?
