There is little comparison between the two for sharpness, the APO is sharper 
wide open than the asph is at f5.6.  Not everybody needs that, but with 
higher MP cameras it becomes more important and I expect that both will be 
kept available.  Look at the size of it compared to SL/Otus etc lenses, only 
ones with comparable quality - although not seen much technical on the CV 
35/2:0 APO....
