It's a small piece of paradise in the hectic Silicon Valley, a place where
a pair of 5-years old twins can go swim in the river, and grow up among the
magnificent redwood trees.

But what happened when Vanessa and Chris got the call to evacuate
immediately - now - ? They packed whatever that were important to them,
dumped a pack of frozen peas in the fish tank and hoped that the fish would
make it, and left in a hurry, to escape from the raging fire.

Two weeks later, after initially hearing that the area "is gone", they
found a house covered in ashes and burnt leaves, and amazingly enough, fish
that survived and an air filter doing its hardest to filter out the foul
air once the power was restored. In front of their house, there's even a
mostly eaten fowl carcass that was the meal for probably a coyote.

It will be a long road to recovery.
