Last week I spent a few quiet hours with a family of American Dippers in the
Sierra Nevada (I was quiet, they weren?t). The ?little? ones had just left
the nest:

while the adults were rebuilding the nest for the next batch of eggs

One of the rocks in the stream is a favorite perch

out of the nest but still begging for handouts

as usual, very distant from nearly everyone else and all comments are
welcome.
