In the early 1970s George Garver was the Houston Independent School
District?s superintendent. I was assigned to cover a board meeting ?in case
something happens.? It did. The school board abruptly fired him for reasons
I don?t know. He immediately left the board meeting and went to his office.
I didn?t ask; I just followed him. One frame taken with a Leica M4 and a
35mm lens. He went on to become a two-term mayor of Georgetown, Texas and
died in 2017 at the age of 85.
