Oshima is an island south of Japan?s Kanagawa prefecture. It is populated
by what many consider the most beautiful women in Japan. In a way, it is
like a Japanese Hawaii; it even has a diminutive Diamond Head. The Yokosuka
Navy Base turned an abandoned Coast Guard station into a resort.

One of the small communities there was the port of Habu, which I was
told often is mentioned in Japanese literature.

Today, basket weavers are one of those ?must? photos but, in 1966, it
seemed appropriate and new.
