I just found this terrific website for a guy that makes custom neck straps
for cameras.  Usually leather, braided, custom colors and lengths.

I thought the group in general would be interested.....

I am not associated with them nor do I own a strap made by them.  It is an
interesting site with prices that are in the $15-30 range.
