Cruise ships have to navigate one of the large canals to reach the berthing areas. This is NOT the site of the ?River Countess?? collision on Sunday. <https://adam-bridge.smugmug.com/Travel/2018-Venice-Eastern-Mediterranean/Uniworld-Cruise/Venice-Part-2/i-bNp2k4H/A> We departed on the ?Seabourn Odyssey? a vessel of about the same size of the first one I showed. Here we?re looking down onto the ?River Countess?. There were 11 (!) cruise ships in port the day we left.
