While making a shopping run today, I stopped by the airport.? I wanted
another look at the impressive early DC-3 parked there.? As I suspected,
this 1937 model is equipped with Wright Whirlwind engines.? Later models
used Pratt & Whitney Twin-Wasp engines.? Seeing the cloud cover, I
thought this was a good chance to get an environmental portrait of the
airplane as it would have been depicted in 1937 when it entered airline
service.

I always enjoy the conversations with the folks in attendance at the
airport counter.? Here is one of the friendliest.
