Good stuff, Sonny, and thanks to Jayanand, Philippe, and Mark.
I went ahead and got the 55mm Sonnar today as I was in hospital
yesterday, so going into Dublin was a non runner. Small thing really as
I was only getting tests to ensure my heart wouldn't stop during my
upcoming knee operation. I'd normally be put on a threadmill, but,
thanks to my shot knees, they used chemical stimulants (dobutamine and
atropine) to set my heart racing. Personally, I would have preferred
good looking women.

Anyway, I managed to pick up an immaculate used one, and at a
considerable discount from a reputable Sony and Leica dealer, and have
to admit I am impressed even though I only farted around with it tonight
in the house.
I'll be giving it some serious use during the Presidential election over
the coming weekend.

Douglas
PS I will look at the Vario-Tessar 24-70 in the new year as the kit zoom
is a little underwhelming.
