My maternal grandfather worked in that factory for half of his life. I 
forwarded your message to my mother, who grew up in Fort Wayne and who 
is now 93. Here is her reply:

'Wow!  Thank you for this.  I remember mostly the exterior, though I 
think I was inside at one point.  I sent it on to my sister.   One of my 
favorite stories about the plant was the pair of guys who stole tall 
ladders by putting them over the fence in broad daylight acting as 
though that was what they were supposed to do.

I never found arrows to navigate through the list, but managed to look 
at most of the pictures piecemeal.  I never quite knew what a superior 
setup they had at the factory.

Remember Barbara MacKay making fun of the fact that we all called it 
?The GE?"'
