One cautionary tale: I have a high end but somewhat elderly (mid-2010
version) iMac desktop with 16GB RAM etc etc and a robust 2015 MacBook Air
that were running reasonably well on Yosemite but when I tried to upgrade
them to the latest version of Lightroom, Adobe (I believe) said I needed to
upgrade my OS to fully implement the features in the upgrade so I did the
upgrading to High Sierra. All seemed fine until I discovered that High
Sierra had deleted the VPN settings connecting me from home or my laptop to
my office.

So I did some research (Google) and learned "yes, it does that".
Apparently Apple doesn't think the PPTP VPN method of connecting is secure
any more and won't enable it (Brian, feel free to chime in here, I've
exhausted my vocabulary not to mention my knowledge). It would have been
nice if I had known this before considering whether the free upgrade would
be worth the price.

Since this is well outside my skill set I contacted the tech service that
maintains our office servers and network and was told 'hrmmm, Apple may be
right and we'll look into it.' So far they are still looking.

Hope This Helps.
