Frank all your camera issues seem to be with M?s a camera even though digital is still very much a mechanical beast and the repair issues seem to be more mechanical than electronic.
I think the new systems now from Leica, the SL we?ve been discussing as well as the medium format S are working out.
I?m not hearing about repair problems on these newer system cameras which are more firmly based on electronics less much less on mechanical systems.
I think they are working out.
I just can?t begin to almost afford them. They are the things dreams are made of.

If I had money rolling in I?d get set up with both S and SL systems.

Ironic with Leica?s mechanical camera making history they?ve got the electronics down just not the nuts and bolts.

Who says? Do you really trust Leica will properly repair your camera in a timely fashion?

My M6 was repaired but then they shipped me a body casting that was so dented the film cartridge would not fit.....
My M8 had to go in twice because there was not a single pixel in focus.... It appeared that the focal plane was twisted compared to the image plane.
My M9 was fine until the glass cover plate fell off....
My Monochrom was fine, with a corroded glass cover plate....

These cameras have spent a total of over 18 months being repaired.
You think pros can tolerate that kind of time without their working tools?
Excuse me, pros get treated special, it is the amateur's repairs get treated like .... dirt.

To be fair, I have never had a problem with lens repair..... ( mainly because I send them to DAG to be done)

Not again. No more Leica bodies for me. Period.

But with the Techart Leica AF adapter for the Sony A7 family plus Leica glass, why would I? Best glass, IBIS, AF, bodies ( technology) that I can afford to grow with.

I think the SL camera though costing many thousands but then not spend all the time in the shop
