Great shot, Ric.? When I was growing up in Mississippi, we had a lot of 
the standard Redheaded Woodpeckers.? They usually chose nesting spots 
near the tops of wooden power poles.? Since they were very territorial, 
it was common to see dead males at the base of the poles, the losers in 
the territorial battles.
