Hi John,

Those rates are fairly accurate but the problem is that there are so many 
really good photogs out there freelancing due to news outlets laying off 
folks that gigs at those rates are hard to get. 

The other problem is that usually you have to assign all rights to the 
people who hire you so if you do get that once in a lifetime image, you will 
see no additional money from licensing it. You might even have to pay to use 
the image in your self promotion. 

All the top level freelance pj photogs that I know struggle to make a 
living.
