I?ve used the Lynda.com <http://lynda.com/> training videos for a variety of 
Adobe subjects and recommend them. You can try them free for a short period 
as I recall.

On the subject of workflow inside the Develop Module:

I remember reading on the Adobe forums that regardless of the order in which 
develop settings are applied by the user, an internal algorithm in Lightroom 
is applied when the final image is rendered for export or printing. I have 
not seen what that order is. Could be a good question to write to Julieanne 
Kost at Adobe whose blog I follow:

There are non-intuitive parts of Lightroom - at least to me.

For my own practices - for printing - I tend to do a bit of editing in 
Lightroom and then export to Photoshop where I have much more control then 
re-import into Lightroom and use the Print module on the edited image I?ve 
imported. Sometimes, every rarely, I?ll make a change in Lightroom to the 
imported image.

Basically, remember that Lightroom is simply Adobe Camera Raw with a 
database and some extra capabilities added for books, geolocation, etc.
