On a recent drive to Huntsville, Alabama, we passed a cotton gin that has been there forever. I noticed a large quantity of round bales of cotton, wrapped in yellow plastic. A quick Google search told me that these cotton "modules" are produced by the new cotton-picking machines, and are then transported to the gin for separation of the lint and seeds. This automation saves one costly piece of equipment and several workers.
