Hi Ted,

I appreciate all of the kind words.  I sent a total of 10 shots to the 
family, out of 55 exposures.  Not bad for a bunch of moving targets.

I agree with you on preserving the past.  Not having anywhere near your 
quantity of images, several years ago I digitized all of my keepers and 
sent CD copies to the kids.  Just last weekend, my oldest son read about 
a proposed project to reactivate a steam locomotive that has been 
sitting in Nashville's Centennial Park for 60 years, where my kids 
climbed all over it.  I searched my files and came up with two photos 
for them.

I see my function these days as the informal photographer at these 
gatherings.  I use Tina's approach, blend in with a small camera and 
shoot when I get a clear shot.  No formal stuff.  The younger folks fire 
away with their Canons and phones, but they seem to like the ones I provide.

Incidentally, one of Lauren's gifts was a small, water-proof Nikon 
digital camera.  So, maybe another generation of photographers is on the 
way.
