He was a lawyer but then thought better of it and became a full-time artist, working entirely in Lego bricks. I have seen this exhibition in Brussels in 2014, but the light was much better at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia (and photography was allowed). Some of the pieces are reproductions of famous works, such as American Gothic, but most are original works.
