Subject: [Leica] IMG: On a Rainy Day, a Visitor from the Past

When I saw the flight plan, I knew I had to get to the airport, in spite
of the persistent showers. It showed that a Convair 580 turboprop was
coming in, probably for a load of freight. I had not seen one of these
in many years. It turned out to be of Mexican registry. I had
forgotten how big these things were, compared to the business jets that
usually handle this role.

Here is the scene I saw when I arrived. A truck load of pallets was
awaiting hoisting into the large fuselage loading hatch.

The task was repeated several times, unloading the pallet from the truck

And placing it gently in the aircraft

The crew had pallet-handling equipment to position each pallet in the
fuselage.
