It showed that a Convair 580 turboprop was coming in, probably for a load of freight. I had not seen one of these in many years. It turned out to be of Mexican registry. I had forgotten how big these things were, compared to the business jets that usually handle this role. Here is the scene I saw when I arrived. A truck load of pallets was awaiting hoisting into the large fuselage loading hatch. http://www.gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/DSCF2091+FM.tif.html The task was repeated several times, unloading the pallet from the truck http://www.gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/DSCF2094+FM.tif.html And placing it gently in the aircraft http://www.gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/DSCF2099+FM.tif.html The crew had pallet-handling equipment to position each pallet in the fuselage.
