Thanks Herbert for sharing your experiences. I think the reality is that I 
should probably be wearing glasses more than I do, or care to admit to, 
after all I am not getting older am I? Next time I am with the optician I 
will discuss the situation and then probably carry on as before, because I 
am trying to deny the age thing (fairly unsuccessfully I might add!)
