Nice shot Doug.  I have never thought of making a pano with a Telephoto 
lens.  cool idea, will have to try it some time.  Nicely captured.

Yesterday I visited California's Sierra Valley north of Lake Tahoe and found 
a Sandhill Crane nest adjacent to the road.  Not wanting to draw attention 
to the nest, I stopped the truck for only a few moments and grabbed a few 
photos.  The bird was too close to fit it all in a single photo with the 
280mm lens so I made a 2-image panorama of the bird on the nest:
