Interesting look at Toyko - a place I've never been to. Someday...

Subject: [Leica] Monday in Tokyo

Hi Luggers,
Esther and I were out and about in Tokyo on Monday.
We rode the subway to the Ginza to visit BIC Camera. On the way I snapped
this grandfather taking his granddaughter to school.

When he saw me taking pictures he started to talk to his granddaughter in
English.

We decided the most boring job in Japan must be the welcoming bow lady. This
one is at the MidTown Tokyo in Roppongi Hills.

We went to the Fujifilm House in Roppongi where there is a collection of
antique cameras, two rooms of photo shows and a repair shop on the second
floor.
There I was able to get a replacement lens hood for my 35 f1.4 - which BIC
did not have earlier in the day. At Fuji I met Takashi Ueno who was involved
in the design of
the XT 1. I will report on our conversation separately.

Just down the street from Fujifilm House was the Orange Bar where we went to
wait for the ?kids? to finish work:

Moet is on sale for Y700 (US$5.85) during happy hours - a lot gets poured
and drunk in the two hours between 5 and 7.
Russ and Kseniya showed up in good time and we had a drink:

Kseniya?s best friend, Jeniya, joined us. The girls met in Tokyo while
modelling.

As Happy Hour was drawing to a close this older patron was trying to locate
his friend before the prices changed:

Russell saying good night to our waiter. We went next door and Kseniya
treated us to Russian dinner which was very nice.

It was raining heavily when we finished and so Russ called an Uber taxi to
take us home.

The rainy street from inside the taxi. Russ?s office is in the building with
the Collier sign - centre left:

Howard (off into the urban jungle again)
