My God!  It was barely daylight. I focused on the man.  That's all I could
see.  To me, he is sharp.  I don't care about the background - in fact, I
would prefer that would be out of focus.  Look at his face, his shirt, his
pocket button - are they sharp or not?   I don't have a clue if f8 was the
actual setting, but that's what the EXIF says and I don't think it lies.
