Subject: [Leica] Puts on Leila's Troubles

I think that although people may be able to afford a $24,500 special edition
camera and there is money to be made in selling it too them I don't think in
terms of branding and public relations its a good idea for Leica to be
coming out with a $24,500 Lenny Kravitz camera version of pre-ripped
Abercrombie jeans.
For the only reason that its overtly ridiculous and makes anyone involved
with it look like an idiot.
A Green Safari edition is a Leica tradition. Or a black lacquer.
But most of these editions are cruel jokes.
An acid washed pre stressed camera is something the writers on Saturday
Nikon Live would come up with to make fun of Leica if Dr. Andreas Kaufmann
was the guest host.. Not something Leica would think of themselves.

The image Leica wants to cultivate is one of a camera going by a different
functional concept (rangefinder) and a different quality level (premium)
for the best photographers in the world (Magnum and others) and with a rich
history (used lenses gong back many decades) which you can buy and use
yourself and see how the level of your pictures rises to the occasion.
