It certainly qualifies as "R Lens Compatible" for many various applications 
Richard.

Certainly for contemplative photography - which I do enjoy.

Remains to be seen - if and when the honey moon "is over."

It certainly complements the R8/DMR well;
and serves as a serious upgrade to the M8.
