Moving the switch only shuts off the focus peaking, so I could still focus. The exposure comp dial stays put for me, but that might be because I have the Thumbs Up that shields the wheel from my thumb. My biggest frustration with the Fuji - I wish I could have it set it to "EVF only" when I'm shooting, but have the back LCD come on when I push the button to review the shot. Now, I have to review through the viewfinder. Even so, I like using this camera more than any DSLR.
