The lack of printed manuals is a sad thing in our world. Online or on cd
isn't as good.

Have been following this discussion and can answer this question. I have a
Sony Bravia and Apple TV. My MacBook Air is running Mavericks. I selected
the Apple TV input on my Bravia, then clicked on the AirDrop logo in the
toolbar on my laptop. It turned blue. Then I clicked on the now blue
AirDrop logo again and selected Mirror Built in Display and, voila, instant
mirroring on the Bravia.

I think the absence of printed manuals for computers explains a lot of this
difficulty. There?s often much trial and error involved in getting things
to work and, often, also requires consultation with someone who?s all ready
figured it out.

There?s lots of other stuff I don?t like about Mavericks and I think Apple
is getting way too high handed, but at least this one is simple.

Best,

Dick
